Basically, I just registered and then filled in the form on the Seeking Support page.

My references are obviously unreal, but it's important to have good references. Personally, I would be very hesitant to support someone who couldn't give good references. Unless there was a very good reason.

After providing your story, you may be contacted. No guarantees. How do you check to know if you've been contacted?

You login. At your login Profile page is a button for Messages. Press that and you can see if you're received any messages from potential helpers.

You may feel it's inconvenient to login every day. That's why on your login Profile pages, you'll find a Modify button so you can modify your profile by adding an email address. The only purpose of this email address is to send you an email when a message comes in for you. To ensure that you have complete privacy, entering an email address in totally optional. But then you have to check back every day to see any messages.
